Why Study Religion?

Why Study Religion?
Most people have an inclination
to understand mytholization
to listen to or read the stories
which are acting as allegories
This is because we all want to know
what really makes the universe go
and why and whoever designed it
or is there a purpose behind it
All these questions may not be absurd
because creation really occurred
We are uncomfortable with doubt
and want to know what it’s all about
Most of these stories may not be true
and may seem irrelevant to you
Many people’s faith is very strong
and they are anxious to go along
Some people will act with derision
toward any kind of religion
while some of us are quite curious
why it makes some people furious
Many people are seemingly sold
on stories parents and preachers told;
believe these stories until they die
but they are fables which i can’t buy
Does it all start or end with a bang
or with a hymn the fat lady sang?
